NFTs
Far more than a simple buzz word, NFTs have hit the mainstream as a medium for artists across the world. Using blockchain technology, NFTs, or non-fungible tokens, are revolutionizing ownership, provenance, and accessibility in the art world. As a professional artist, providing digital offerings was always so frustrating, battling online art theft (https://soulcurryart.com/blogs/mad-men-modern/my-battle-with-online-art-theft), combating the “right click, save” ethos online, and simply helping collectors find ways to display their collections. 2021 changed all of that with an “NFT boom” that brought more and more exposure to digital ownership and artistry, liberating many and focusing my attention on my artwork.
My NFTs are carefully crafted, by hand, using traditional art techniques like pen, ink, acrylic, gouache, photography, collage on paper and canvas to digital native artworks drawn using the iPad on Procreate in 4K and 8K resolution. Bridging my contemporary art practice with the NFT space has been a very rewarding experience, both creatively in my art as well as reaching a new audience.
